The University of Zakho organized a workshop entitled “Innovation for Business” for the Kurdistan Innovation Institute (KII) on Sunday, February 5, 2023. The workshop was conducted in the presence of the President, Vice Presidents, Deans, Academic Staff, and Students of the University of Zakho.

In his speech, the President of the University, Dr. Nadhim S. Abdulaziz, sincerely welcomed the attendees and stated that today we are proud to host this activity as it is considered a bright point for the University of Zakho. He added that the university is ready to open up to the world and exchange ideas and visions that will raise the scientific level in a way that contributes to community service and achieving a more sustainable environment.

Following the speech of the university president, Dr. Azad Najar, Executive Manager of KII and the inventor of the artificial heart, and Mr. Hoger Saleem, Management Team in KII, delivered a lecture through which they discussed the key achievements and activities of KII, in addition to its aim to assist individuals involved in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship.

On the sidelines of the event, a dialogue session, moderated by Dr. Dler Kamal, was held in which Dr. Karwan F. Sami, Vice President for Students Affairs, Dr, Azad Najar, and Mr. Hoger Saleem initiated talks regarding several files related to developing projects, enhancing the skills of innovators, the process of promoting and improving ideas and inventions as well as promoting the creativity.

The activity was concluded by conducting a field visit to the laboratories of the university.
